in questo periodo molto pieno sto accumulando materiale sullo steampunk in modo un po' più accurato, per andare oltre l'equazione "vittoriano + ingranaggi = steampunk" che ha intrappolato anche me.
in questo mi ha aiutato la lettura di due libri molto lontani tra loro.
"A Steampunk's Guide to the Apocalypse" di Margaret Killjoy e "the Steampunk Bible" di Jeff VanderMeer con la collaborazione di S. J. Chambers.
this is a very busy period but I'm accumulating accurately material on steampunk, to go a bit' over the equation "Victorian style + gears = steampunk" that trapped me.
two books helped me.

mentre il secondo si concentra sull'estetica, sull'immaginario e sulla cultura steampunk (ed è un vero piacere per gli occhi...), il primo presenta il movimento come qualcosa di nuovo, una necessità creativa e ribelle che si rifà alla decrescita e all'handmade in modo esemplare.
perché l'Apocalisse? be', perché siamo in piena emergenza economica, ambientale, personale, ricostruire un mondo sembra una cosa impossibile e inevitabile allo stesso tempo e sulla sopravvivenza anche ideale si basa il libro.
while the second focuses on the aesthetics, the imaginary and the steampunk culture (and is a feast for the eyes ...), the first presents the movement as something new, a creative and rebellious need that refers to the decrease and the handmade and in an exemplary manner.
because the Apocalypse? well ', because we're in full emergency economic, environmental, personal, create a world seems an impossible and inevitable at the same time, and survival is essensial by the book.

il secondo invece offre tantissimi spunti visivi, ed è un vero e proprio escursus tra invenzioni vecchie e nuove, ispirazioni letterarie e cinematografiche, approfondisce i tanti aspetti stilistici del movimento..insomma vale la pena acquistarlo :)
