tornata da Venezia per una nuova spedizione a Il Graffio :)

be', il tempo era splendido, il viaggio luuungo e Venezia è sempre Venezia!

purtroppo sono già tornata :(

bè, vi presento cosa ho riportato e cosa ho trovato a casa ad aspettarmi.

queste solo le nuove perline che ho riportato, purtroppo sono molto poche. ghghghghg

adoro quelle arancioni che userò per il nuovo challenge dell'EtsyItaliaTeam (il tema è Estremo Oriente) e quelle teal e rame <3 e ovviamente il quarzo tormalinato <3 <3

be', a casa ho trovato ad aspettarmi il cubbo! :D

è uno dei primi utensili veri e propri che compro e già lo amo! <3

a cosa serve e come si usa? be', semplice: basta tagliare il metallo, metterlo nella forma e martellare con la mazzetta allegata al cubbo, il risultato sono delle "cupoline".

non so se mi sono spiegata..ehm xD

questo comunque è un mio esperimento fatto al volo usando una filigrana invece del metallo :)

che ne pensate? presto spero di riuscire a realizzare qualcosa di più complesso!

la domenica non è proprio giorno preferito, mi dedico alla pigrizia e ho davvero bisogno di un momento dolce, quindi l'altra domenica ho preparato queste tortine pigre :)

perchè pigre? perchè sono semplici e veloci, giuste da preparare un'oretta prima dell'ora del tè.

Ingredienti:

1 rotolo di pasta frolla (sìsì, sono pigra xD se avete tempo preparatela voi ;))
250g circa di ricotta.
1 cucchiaio zucchero
50g cioccolato a pezzi (o canditi...)
1 uovo
scorza grattugiata di 1/2 limone

mischiare l'uovo e la ricotta, aggiungere il resto. tagliate dei dischi di pasta e metteteli nelle formine monoporzione (o tutta la pasta in un'unica teglia grande) coprendo i bordi. mettete il ripieno, se volete decorate con la pasta avanzata e infornate in forno caldo e cuocete a 160°C per 25-30 minuti. (finché la ricotta è ferma e dorata)

dopo la lunga pausa nel caos di dicembre, tra il lavoro intenso, le feste e un po' di riposo torno a scrivere oggi, primo giorno dell'anno il mio classico post di riflessione e speranza :)
quest'anno è stato pieno di persone ed esperienze come non avrei neanche sperato. pieno di amici e ricco di spunti e di piccoli, grandi risultati che mi incitano a non mollare. e non è mia intenzione.
ringrazio tutte le creative con cui ho il piacere di confrontarmi ogni giorno (non parlo molto ma sappiate che vi osservo...), ringrazio chi ha fiducia in me e chi porta un pezzetto di me con sé.
ringrazio chi mi sopporta quotidianamente, chi mi porta in posta e c'è sempre, per una parola, due chiacchiere, una tazza di tè. chi mi sgrida quando sono pigra e mi ferma quando esagero. se i cambiamenti non mi spaventano più è grazie a tutti voi. <3
se quest'anno mi ha insegnato qualcosa è la costanza e la determinazione. se come ogni anno la mia lista dei buoni propositi è spropositata, bè, tanto meglio :)
un nuovo anno ha inizio e farò tutto il possibile per viverlo al meglio. tante idee e tanti progetti si affollano nelle mie giornate, non vedo l'ora di farvi partecipi del piccolo futuro che sto cercando di creare per me e i miei sogni.

ho conosciuto queste piccole meravoglie nei miei primi anni su deviantArt (qualche anno fa...ehm) e sono rimasta folgorata dalla bellissima idea della loro creatrice per celebrare Halloween. :)

come saprete halloween mi piace molto quindi l'idea di festeggiarlo in modo geek mi esalta!

Nano-N): breve descrizione della tua "produzione"

SignoraBonBon-S): Mi chiamo Francesca Capellini, sono un'illustratrice italiana residente a Parigi.
Lavoro sopratutto per giornali e riviste per adulti, faccio fumetti e graphic journalism ma da qualche mese mi è venuta l'idea di cominciare a produrre immagini che siano più un complemento d'arredo per la casa, al limite tra design e ritratti di famiglia.
In Francia sono molto legati alla cultura dell'arredare casa con oggetti sfiziosi e ricercati, sopratutto le ragazze. Oggetti che possano esprimere la tua personalità e che creino un'atmosfera piacevole nelle case, per chi ci vive e per gli ospiti.
Sto approfondendo proprio ultimamente il discorso della declinazione di un'immagine su più mezzi: design d'arredamento, borse, t-shirt, manifesti, tutti articoli che posso autoprodurre e gestire sia con il mio negozio online sia con la vendita a mercati di handmade.
Mi piace potermi esprimere in più situazioni e anche con più tecniche partendo sempre da ciò che mi ispira di più quando mi guardo intorno.

N): Cos'è per te la creatività?
S): Il mondo della press illustration lo amo tantissimo, mi piace dover lavorare in fretta, stare a contatto con i redattori, informarmi sull'attualità e dover trovare una sintesi illustrativa per l'articolo.
Forse dipende anche dal fatto che compro da sempre moltissimi giornali e riviste che accumulo e ritaglio e conservo nelle mie case.
I fumetti sono l'altra mia grande passione, ne ho tantissimi e ora che sono in Francia passo ore seduta per terra nelle librerie a sfogliarli e capirli.
Per me la creatività è stata una scoperta tardiva.
Ho passato anni a occuparmi di letteratura e analisi dell'immagine quando dentro in realtà avevo solo una gran voglia di poter trovare il mezzo giusto per esprimere quello che in realtà io pensavo.
L'illustrazione è un'ottimo strumento ma anche tutto quello che posso creare con le mani.
Mi piace cucire, mi piace comporre insieme rami e pezzi di legno che trovo in riva ai laghi.
mi piace disegnare su ceramica.
Il mio riferimento sono le tante artiste nordiche contemporanee che vivono proprio attraverso la declinazione del loro stile su diverse arti applicate.

N): E l'artigianato?
S): Come definire il mio lavoro..io credo che artigianato non sia la definizione giusta.
Si sono d'accordo che sotto la definizione di produzione indipendente fatta a mano ci può essere sia una come me che si occupa di collage digitali come anche la signora che crea bomboniere con mille pizzi e merletti.
Ecco non voglio denigrare il lavoro della signora ci mancherebbe
ma secondo me sotto la definizione di artigianato si trovano anche moltissime cose di dubbio gusto.
Negli ultimi due anni si è sviluppata un po' in tutto il mondo una nuova era di produttori indipendenti che creano veramente oggetti che si avvicinano al limite della alta produzione professionale, come qualità e come idee, ma a prezzi più contenuti.

N): Da cosa e come nasce un tuo progetto?

S): Questo progetto chiamato “Aiuloviu Collection” è nato da pochi mesi, il tutto in funzione di una mostra che mi avevano affidato per il Festival di Cultura indipendente Quindie a Fidenza.

Avevo sempre voluto usare la mia collezione di immagini vintage, da anni conservo in scatole di latta quelle che trovo ai mercatini, ma anche quelle che trovo libere dai diritti on line.
E così un giorno mentre ero in treno ho pensato che mi sarebbe piaciuto creare delle coppie immaginarie partendo dalla combinazione di queste vecchie foto ritratto con oggetti e vestiti colorati con riferimento preciso all'epoca anni 50, che io amo tantissimo.
E così è stato. Sono nati i primi 12 ritratti in tempo brevissimo, li ho esibiti a Fidenza e poi messi in vendita nel mio etsy shop.
Dove hanno avuto un riscontro immediato, con moltissimi acquirenti americani.
Sto creando una nuova serie di 12 adesso e anche un libro per bambini usando la stessa tecnica.

Nano-N): short description of your "production"

Pamwishbow-P): I mostly do digital work, starting form lots and lots of drawing. I also commonly use gouache, ink, and even more rare, oil paints for large pieces. Though I am still kind of intimidated by that stuff and small pieces tend to be more fun for me.

N): What is creativity for you?
P):I think creativity is really important, I am incredibly impressed with people who have a good hand at technique and can create realistic images. However, I am usually drawn into, and more impressed by people who have great ideas rather than the best ability to render something. I really value ideas and how people can apply them in unconventional ways. How many ways can you draw a toaster? I'm sure someone out there can come up with something you've never ever seen after looking though a hundred normal, well drawn appliances.

N): What is handmade?
P): Handmade things hold a special place in my heart. I work primarily digitally, so most of my artwork comes in the form of a print. I love working this way and it really saves me because I have very little space to work. However, I am always drawn to something that shows that a human hand has touched it. No matter what it is, a handmade knife or fine art, it holds a great deal of value to me.

N): From what and how does your project?
P):My process starts with a lot of drawing. I tend to try and work with very few colors and as little line as I can when working on prints. It becomes a challenge to work around how I will use shape and a limited palette to create an image. I love puzzles, so forcing myself to do that is a lot of fun. I scan these images and work on them in Illustrator, Photoshop, or both depending on what I'm doing. Lots of tiny changes and color choosing later, it's finally done.

Leanimale-L): My name is Laura and I make all of the cute little animals of le animalé. I started in May of 2011, when I decided to share my love of animals and miniatures with the world and offer unique little totems that people could take with them or display in their favorite place. They provide fun and inspiration and cheerfulness, much like real animals!

N): What is creativity for you?
L): Creativity makes life interesting! I can't imagine life without creativity, I mean, yikes! To me, creativity has been a way to deal with life, it's been a way to celebrate life and actually, it's just a way of life.

N): What is handmade?
L): Handmade is connection. It's details, charm, character, effort, talent, and soul. I really appreciate handmade things, I love shopping handmade, and I'm so happy to share my own handmade things with other people.

N): From what and how does your project?
L): Most of my work is created with polymer clay and paint. My planning involves deciding which animal to make, if even that. I've always faired best when relying on my inspiration, passion and instinct to guide my work, so that's what I do. Nano-N): short description of your "production"
JeezVanilla-J): My name is Adriana and I'm the girl behind JeezVanilla. I design on ceramics, basically applying my illustrations onto all kinds of tableware. I started JeezVanilla back in 2009, but it wasn't until late last year that I decided to dedicate to it most of my time. I love all things vintage, so my designs tend to have a flair of the old days but with modern style. And they always tell a story even if you don't necessarily need to know it to enjoy them, like the Retro People collection being based on lost photographs I find in flea markets in an effort to give a new adventure to those unknown faces.

N): What is creativity for you?
J): Creativity for me is fun! Is being able to try new things, not caring about the result but enjoying the process and getting surprised and completely satisfied when something turns out beautiful.

N): What is handmade?
J): Handmade is an amazing opportunity for anyone to do pretty much anything! I think it is beautiful to create something with your own hands, the piece becomes something loved that possesses a meaning that a mass-produced object can never obtain.

N): From what and how does your project?
J): The inspiration for the collections comes from any random place: a book, or a movie, something that I hear on the streets… when I decide on a theme for the collection I go crazy buying every book and watching every movie I can find on the subject and I doing some proper research before starting to draw. Once the illustrations are made, i trace them with clear paper so that I can place them on top of the ceramics and I can get an idea of how they will look once fired. Then I transform de illustration into decals, that then will be applied onto the piece before firing it on the kiln. And when they come out they are done, the design is there to stay!

As I said in my post about Venice the goal of my trip was "Il Graffio"

"Il Graffio" è una piccola bottega nata dal sogno di un giovane artigiano siciliano. La sua filosofia è quella di rilanciare l'artigianato italiano offrendo prodotti interamente realizzati a mano di alta qualità ed è anche un luogo di incontro per giovani creativi a cui viene offerta la possibilità di poter esporre.

"Il Graffio" is a small shop born from the dream of a young Sicilian craftsman. His philosophy is to revive the Italian handicraft products made entirely by hand by offering high quality and is also a meeting place for creative young people who are offered the opportunity to exhibit.

Luigi è una persona molto amichevole e simpatica, con le idee chiare ed è un piacere collaborare con lui :)

la scorsa settimana è stata davvero intensa :)

piena di viaggi, amici, foto e cose nuove.

last week was really busy :)

full of travels, friends, photos, and new things.

ho deciso di parlare di una cosa per volta, inizio da venezia. nonostante adori viaggiare non c'ero mai stata, è stata un'emozione molto forte e il mio "crampo" fotografico non è mai stato odiato tanto. avrei tanto voluto riuscire a fare mooolte più foto ma non è andata affatto così e direi che questa è una bella scusa per tornarci quanto prima :)

I decided to talk about one thing at a time, starting from Venice.

I love traveling though I was not there ever been, was very strong emotion and my photography-coma has never been hated so much.

I would have loved to be able to do a lot bigger picture but did not go well and I would say that this is a great excuse to go back as soon as possible:)

sono stata a Venezia per "il Graffio", negozio e laboratorio di Luigi che ospita vari creativi e artigiani, tra cui me.

è stato molto interessante vedere il frutto suoi sforzi e diventarne una piccola parte..

con l'occasione ho avuto modo di incontrare due amiche-crafter: Federica-Fedulab (qui l'intervista per il mio blog) e Alessia-KnittingCate. è molto piacevole finalmente lasciare la tastiera per parlare con persone che proprio come te hanno una passione così forte per il craft e anche una forte determinazione.

Federica mi ha fatto da guida in un micro giro veneziano, con tanto di golosa merenda :)

Alessia invece mi ha ospitata nella sua bellissima casa, in modo che non dovessi fare tutto il viaggio in un'unica giornata (quasi 450 km..)

grazie mille ragazzi, non so dire che piacere è stato conoscervi <3

with the opportunity I got to meet two friends-crafters: Federica-Fedulab (the interview for my blog) and Alessia-KnittingCate. is very nice finally leave the keyboard to talk to people just like you have a passion for the craft so strong and a strong determination.federica has been my guide in a venetian short tour, complete with a sweet snack:)

Nano-N): short description of your "production"
Rodica-R): My name is Rodica, I’m Romanian and I’ve been living in France for 5 years. I studied law, but ended up working as a graphic designer. I always loved creating, especially painting. For a few years now, I’ve been creating little clay houses and they bring me a lot of joy, especially when I know people enjoy them also. I like to paint too and I also create painted jewelry.
I love the days when I go to sleep and I can’t wait for the morning to come so I can start working on a project that I am excited about. Those days are the best!

N): What is creativity for you?
R): For me, creativity is an excuse to buy new art supplies! :) Kidding aside, thinking of new ideas and transform them into reality is a wonderful thing. Creative people make me happy.

N): What is handmade?
R): The main reason I love handmade is the idea that a lot of care and passion was put into creating something. Buying handmade is also a very personal experience, usually you get to know the person behind the object and that makes all the difference. I’m very happy the handmade movement is getting bigger and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!

N): From what and how does your project?
R): Everything starts with a lump of clay. I love sculpting it and giving it a shape. While I wait for the houses to dry, I start thinking about colors and how to combine them. I’m very inspired by the seasons in my use of color. Sometimes it’s a very fast process, sometimes it’s very slow and I keep changing things until I am satisfied with the result. I usually work very slowly, it takes me a lot of time from the moment I sculpt a house, paint it and finally varnish it, but I enjoy every moment.

ho realizzato le perline con delle perline di conteria di un magnifico bianco opalescente e ho completato con dei ciondoli geometrici vintage.

I made the beads with beads of glass beads in a beautiful opalescent white and I finished with vintage geometric pendants.

e finalmente un nuovo articolo steampunk. un anello regolabile in base bronzo con parti di orologio e un'adorabile rosa blu. vi piace? :)

and finally a new article steampunk. adjustable ring base with parts of bronze clock and a lovely blue rose. you like? :)

se seguite un po' la mia produzione avrete notato che preferisco creare collane molto lineari ma questa volta ho voluto cambiare <3 così è nata questa collana multi filo in turchese naturale e catenella argentata. il primo filo è come un girocollo e gli altri scendono morbidamente. l'adoro!

if you follow some 'my work you may have noticed that I prefer to create necklaces very linear, but this time I wanted to change <3 so did this multistand necklace with natural turquoise and silver chain. the first wire is like collar and other fall softly. I love it!

Nano-N): short description of your "production"
EpicLeather -E): My name is Nathan Rodriguez. Together with my wife Samantha we run Epic Leather, a small shop on etsy that sells original and custom leather goods. We are self-taught artists who love all sorts of art and mediums. Primarily I make Leather masks, however recently I have begun crafting Armor and various other items such as belts, collars and accessories. Since we are big into fantasy and the SCA, I try to craft most of my items with materials that were used during time periods before the industrial revolution: Rivets, Leather, Bone, Dye, String and Buckles. This way my products feel more authentic to individuals who wish to participate in historical events and still be true to the time period, but as the same time have a fantasy and less traditional feel to them. Our shop is still primarily an online endeavor as we are relatively new store, however soon we plan on traveling and vending at SCA events such as Gulf Wars and various cons and fairs where you can view items made by both my wife and I. Should you see us feel free to stop by and say hello.

N): What is creativity for you?
E): Creativity for me is expression. Expression of your emotions, imagination, desires, dreams, fears, hopes and personality. Since I still have a day job that robs me of a good portion of my time, Epic Leather has been an outlet for me to express my creativity in a unique and unorthodox manner. Taking materials from once living creatures and turning them into art, it’s a morbidly awesome hobby.

N): What is handmade?
E): Items that are handmade I think are some of the finest crafted items. In today’s society where everything is mass produced by cheap labor and materials, it is refreshing to see handmade items making a comeback. When something is crafted by hand, no two items will be identical, and in turn will be the only version of it in existence. Even if the same item is reproduced, each will have characteristics and patterns unique to itself. I consider all my works art, even if it is not in the traditional since I am still taking blank, lifeless items and giving them form. Artists are creators and leather is my medium from which I create.

N): From what and how does your project?
E): Most of all my items are crafted from materials that would have been around for hundreds or even thousands of years in one form or another. That has always been something I have tried to keep constant in my work. History fascinates me and in some way I feel like I am participating by using materials that our ancestors would have. Aside from that, I love giving my own twist on the subject matter. Science Fiction, Fantasy and Anime/Manga has played a huge part in influencing my style and so Epic Leather is a way of combing my love of all my favorite genres into one art form.

ecco finalmente la collana con i pavoni annunciata (mancano ancora gli orecchini con le piume però...ehm...). mi piace molto nonostante il mio poco amore per l'oro, il ciondolo è talmente bello che ho deciso di abbinarlo semplicemente con una catena vintage e una filigrana tinta di blu :) che ne pensate? sono ancora in dubbio: aggiungere o no dei cristalli blu?

Finally here is the necklace with the peacocks announced (but still missing earrings with feathers...ehm ...). I like very much (despite my little love for gold), the pendant is so beautiful that I decided to simply combine it with a vintage chain and enamel blue filigree :) what do you think? are still in doubt: add or not some blue crystals?

Nano-N): short description of your "production"
SoleDeVita-D): Hi, my name is Solvita (but everyone calls me Sole ). I am a small town girl from Latvia and I opened my shop on Apr 9, 2010. Why pin-back buttons? Well.. I really like to wear different kind of brooches. I think it is very simple and easy way how to give your outfit that little "something". And as I am a big fan of the Nature, I came across the idea that I have to make a brooch with a little peace of "nature" in it . I use real feathers, dried flowers and leafs, real silver and gold foil. I also use recycled paper and super-thin handmade paper from Thailand. In my shop you can also find badges painted with watercolors or black ink. In other words, I use everything that is super-thin and beautiful. :)

N): What is creativity for you?
S): As I have a regular (boring) day job, creativity is a way how to express my self. It gives me a joy. And thanks to Etsy, I have meet so many talented and wonderful people around the world. Creativity and Art connects people and it is wonderful.

N): What is handmade?
S):What is Handmade to me? Handmade things have a soul. They are unique and never the same. Just like we people. You will never find a soul in some China-made-octopus-ring-or-something. I definitely chose handmade instead of mass production, because I want to know where it is made, who is the author, what is hers/his story.

N): From what and how does your project?
S): Most of all, I get my inspiration from nature. From blooming meadows, from sun-set sky, from clouds and colors of the autumn. Rainbow, sea, forest, everything. Mother Nature is the Greatest Artist. And I manage to steal a bit from her. ;) I really hope She don't mind.

muffin alla zucca con marmallata di mirtilli

Ingredienti:

130 g di polpa di zucca cotta
125 g farina 00
4 cucchiai zucchero
1/2 bustina di lievito
1 uovo
80-100 ml latte
50 g burro
sale
marmellata di mirtilli quanto basta

mischiare l'uovo e il latte, aggiungere la zucca e mischiare, unire il burro. unire setacciando la farina, lo zucchero e il lievito in tre tempi, sale. mettere l'impasto nei pirottini riempendoli a metà. aggiungere un po' di marmellata e cuocere in forno caldo a 200°C per 25-30 minuti.

Mentre siete a passeggio un sabato pomeriggio per le vie di un paesino che appena conoscete vi arriva all'orecchio Bach. Camminate e Bach vi sorprende, ammutolendovi. Non so cosa fareste voi ma noi abbiamo seguito la musica e abbiamo trovato un piccolo museo unico nel suo genere.

Si tratta del Museo degli Organi "Santa Cecilia". è in un palazzo come tanti, tranne che per il fatto che dalle pareti si affacciano elementi romanici, ricci di colore e storia. Saliamo le scale che sembrano quelle di un normale palazzo ben tenuto di un'ottantina di anni fa e incontriamo l'orgoglioso curatore nonchè musicista che ci ha portato fin lì. Siamo un po' confusi e lui ci spiega che ci troviamo nella "conversione" di una delle più importanti chiese medievali della Maremma, San Pietro all'Orto e ci mostra foto di un restauro incredibile.
Lo stabile infatti era stato trasformato in una scuola negli anni venti e gli elementi della chiesa sono stati inglobati e conservati dai muri di quell'epoca, ci sono addirittura degli affreschi attribuiti ad Ambrogio Lorenzetti.

Nel museo sono conservati vere rarità che portano per mano il visitatore nell'evoluzione musicale europea, dall'organo al clavicembalo, all'organo meccanico al forte piano e include un laboratorio di restauro dove lo stesso curatore lavora.
Ma in realtà non è questa la parte più interessante (!), perchè il vero piacere di questa visita è stato il poter ascoltare il suono di un gran numero di questi strumenti. Come un viaggio nel tempo. Se vi siete mai chiesti come "suonasse" la musica che è arrivata fino a noi nel suo tempo, quali fattori hanno portato il mutamento di certi strumenti potete capire il fascino di questa esperienza. <3

Vietto-V): My name is Minna Kaartinen and I run my own little eco fashion label Vietto. I founded it on Autumn 2007 and since then I've been making clothing, accessories and jewelry for women mainly of eco cotton, bamboo, left over and upcycled materials. I started my Etsy-shop on August of 2009, but first it was really slowly. I’ve been also selling my stuff here in Finland in few boutiques in biggest cities.

Nano-N): What is creativity for you?
Vietto-V): It is the main driving force for me. Actually I still have my day job, and I guess I must be a bit mad to use nearly all my free time to design and make the clothing and such. But I can’t help it, I have to keep creating!

Nano-N): What is handmade?
Vietto-V): It’s really important for me to make my items myself. I really want to see the result of my own hands. And I truly appreciate handmade stuff in general!

Nano-N): From what and how does your project?
Vietto-V): I mainly use eco friendly materials because I find environmental issues so important for me. I really want to keep my line fresh, innovative and exciting. I love paint fabrics by hand, it gives the items very unique feeling. I also love the idea of convertible clothing, I’m really into them with my own wardrobe. I like to work with continueing ideas, I don’t truly make any seasonal collection. I keep working with my designs all the time and develop them further.

in questi giorni senza linea mi sono concessa un po' più di tv del solito e ho seguito "project runway" il programma condotto e prodotto da Haidi Klum che mette alla prova ogni settimana un gruppo di stilisti con sfide di abilità e creatività. visto che il mio sogno di bambina era fare la stilista è facile intuire quanto la cosa mi abbia presa xD
